LA Animal Services


Offers FREE certificates to cover the cost of dog & cat sterilization.  Available through all 6 L.A. City shelters to City residents (see chart for income requirements unless you are 18 years or older and disabled as defined by the California Fair Employment and Housing Act or the Dept of Housing and Urban Development).  Certificates must be used at specific veterinarians.

Lucy Pet Foundation



FREE spay and neuter services for dogs and cats of qualified City of Los Angeles residents. Call to qualify or make an appt. They also offer low cost vaccines, licensing, deworming, microchipping and other services.


Pasadena Humane Society



Low cost spay/neuter for residents of Altadena, Arcadia, Bradbury, Glendale, La Cañada Flintridge, La Crescenta-Montrose, Monrovia, Pasadena, San Marino, Sierra Madre, South Pasadena and Unincorporated Pasadena.  Pit bulls, pit bull mixes, Chihuahuas and their mixes 15 pounds or less are sterilized and microchipped at no cost to you, if you reside in their service area.  Must provide proof of residency.


Sam Simon Foundation



FREE surgeries for cats and dogs belonging to families that earn less than $40,000 per year. Aside from doing high-volume spays & neuters once a week, it also performs mass removals, amputations, bladder stone removals, eye removals, entropion repair, inguinal hernia repair and more.

See website for a list of veterinarians throughout the state offering low cost sterilization. When calling participating vets, it is important to START your phone with “I was referred by SpayCalifornia who told me you were a low cost spay/neuter facility.”


Feral & Stray Cats




Offers FREE spay/neuter services, shots, deworming, deflea and eartipping for feral and stray cats 5 days a week.  They also offer Trap Neuter Return (TNR) support.


Free Fix LA


Free TNR currently focusing on 5 targeted zip codes in LA: Pacoima/Arleta (91331), Sylmar (91342), North Hollywood (91605), Panorama City (91402) and Van Nuys (91405)


The Stray Cat Alliance



This hotline will help you solve your homeless cat situations. They loan traps for TNR and teach people how to use the traps, and how to care for feral cats.

LA Animal Services


Upon adopting a rabbit from any Animal Care Center, the entire $50 adoption fee will be paid to a participating vet hospital as full payment of sterilization.  Call for more info.
